Founded 20 years ago, Balsam Technologies is a growing IT Managed Services Provider based in Gloucester MA.  Our IT support services include hardware, software, and cloud service migrations and installations.  Clients include various business organizations, municipalities, schools, and not-for-profit agencies.

Balsam is a friendly team environment with generous benefits and daily office perks.  We work together to maintain and support our clients IT infrastructures.  This includes everything from daily routine helpdesk support, computer and network hardware, and software installations.  Other projects include cybersecurity and network assessments, cloud migrations, application and systems implementations, cybersecurity and network security-related implementations, and almost everything else IT-related.

We work together as a team relying on each other’s strengths, experience, and abilities, according to our learned skills.  Over time, we share those skill sets and strengths with each other so that individuals and our team grow stronger along the way.  Ongoing check-in and team meetings also help to knit the team together and provide a forum for sharing ideas, challenges, and recommendations.

Additionally, we periodically drive to nearby client sites (Balsam company vehicles available), for hardware installations, computer replacements, or troubleshooting an issue.  We work primarily from our main office located in Gloucester MA delivering most of our IT support services efficiently over the internet using remote support tools. Team members do occasionally work from home because of weather, illness, or other unexpected life happenings, but we have found our team is stronger and able to support each other better when we are working together in person.

  • Preferred IT certifications – Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, Security, etc.
  • Microsoft Windows Server, and Desktop OS Platforms
  • Virtual Computing: Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware
  • Cloud Services: Azure, AWS, Office 365, SharePoint
  • Cybersecurity & Network Assessments
  • Apple Mac OS Platforms
  • TCP/IP Networking, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, Network Cabling, etc.
  • Basic Scripting/programming Experience
  • VoIP Communication Systems
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Owning tasks and projects – ensuring complete solutions
  • High attention to detail – performing technically detailed tasks
  • Ability to perform under pressure during client network or system outages
  • Teachability – recognize when to ask for help from other team members
  • Ability to communicate accurate schedules and deadlines with clients
  • Ability to learn new technologies through self-study and training

Salary Range + Bonuses:  Depends on Experience & Performance
